Classes & Events

Birthways Family Birth Center offers many classes & events to meet your growing needs during pregnancy and early parenthood. For more information call our office or send an email. We're glad to answer any questions you may have.

Birthways Open House & Orientation: Every Monday Evening at 7:00pm. Whether you plan to birth at home, in our birth center, or at the hospital with one of our doulas, we're here to meet your needs. Free & open to the public. Please RSVP so we know to expect you. Other times are also available by appointment.

Early Pregnancy: 4th Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. This one evening class focuses on your needs during early pregnancy. Good nutrition, exercise, and your growing baby's development are discusses. With time for questions & answers. $15. Open to the public. Refreshments provided.

Bradley Method of Childbirth: The Bradley Method course stresses the importance of a healthy baby, healthy mother, and a healthy family. Our weekly classes discuss the positive impact of good nutrition, exercise, and relaxation on your pregnancy and birth. You'll learn about the birth process, your options during birth, and ways of coping with labor. Fathers and birth partners are guided in supporting the mother through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. Our classes are kept small to allow for individual attention, time to answer questions, and interesting class discussion. Communication between the expectant couple and their chosen birth team is encouraged. Whether you choose to give birth at home, in our birth center, or in the hospital, the Bradley course spans all choices. Open to the public. Call for pricing. The Following are Free Events that Meet at Birthways:

2nd & 4th Wednesday 11am: New Parent Club: Meet with other new parents to share the joys and tribulations of parenthood.

2nd Thursday 10am: La Leche League: No longer hosted at the Birth Center as the Group has grown so much! La Leche League is now hosted at the Sarasota Christian Church map:2923 Ashton Rd Sarasota 34231.

3rd Thursday 10am : Baby Wearing Group: Learn about the benefits of baby wearing, what type of carrier maybe best for you and how to you it! And best of all, meet other moms! Call Tanya at 962-4068 or email her at go_romanovs@yahoo.com to register. Free & open to the public.

4th Thursday 10am :Cloth Diapering & EC 101: Learn the benefits of cloth diapering, the variety of cloth diapers available, and Elimination Communication (EC). Free group meets 4th Thursday of each month at 10am
